dc.description.abstract | Space and organizational performances are fundamental issues that need to be addressed in an organization. An organization's success can be observed by good space performance. However, previous literature suggested that space and organizational performance are still at a low level, and the impact is that the organization has to bear higher operating costs. The low performance is due to the absence of a specific model that can be used as a guideline by the organization. Therefore, to overcome the issue, a study was conducted to (1) identify key indicators of space performance, (2) identify key indicators of organizational performance; and (3) develop a space and organizational performance indicators structural model. The scope of this study concentrated on office space in Lembah Klang and the respondents were facility managers, space managers and architects. Questionnaires were developed based on literature review of space and organizational performance indicators. The survey questionnaires were distributed personally and by email. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, relative importance index, and Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLSSEM). Results showed a range of the highest indicators of space performance beginning with the management, followed by design, innovation, flexibility and consumer. For the organization performance, the highest indicator is satisfaction, followed by efficiency, space charging, value for money, profit, space cost, utilization and productivity. In addition, the structural model showed that three indicators comprising management, innovation and consumer have a significant relationship with organizational performance, while flexibility and design indicators are not significant. As a conclusion, the resulting model can be used as a space management guideline to ensure that space and organizational performance is always at a good level | |
